Russian Finance Minister Siluanov accused the West of stealing Russian reserves and bringing the country to default

Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov called the Russian reserves blocked by the West theft.

The Finance Minister of the Russian Federation said that the West is trying in every possible way to make Russia default on its foreign debt. According to him, ruble funds for the payment of Russia's external debt can be converted into foreign currency only if access to frozen reserves is opened.

Siluanov also said that the Ministry of Finance will propose to refuse to pay dividends by Russian banks, and will also take an individual approach to the payment of dividends by state-owned companies for the past year, since not everyone is ready not to pay.

Recall that the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation refused to fulfill obligations on Eurobonds in rubles. Russia may default on May 4.
