Provocation In Sweden: The Authorities Allowed To Burn The Koran In The Center Of Stockholm

The police department of the Swedish capital has issued a permit to hold an action during which the organizers are supposed to burn the Koran.

For their performance, the applicants chose a place opposite the main mosque of Stockholm and intend to hold it on the first day of one of the two main Muslim holidays of Eid al-Adha, local TV channel SVT reports.

In Stockholm, the Koran has already been burned by the leader of the ultra-right-wing organization "Hard Course" Rasmus Paludan. He held his action in front of the Turkish embassy on legal grounds, as he received permission from the local authorities.

However, in February, the police did not allow such an action to be held in front of the Turkish diplomatic mission in the Swedish capital.

But in the spring, the scandal happened already in Denmark, where a provocation was committed against the Koran and the flag of Turkey, for which the Danish ambassador to Turkey was protested.

Eid al-Adha is celebrated 70 days after another major Muslim holiday, Eid al-Adha, and marks the end of the Hajj rites, that is, the pilgrimage to the holy places of Islam in Mecca.
